Hi guys. My 3rd service interval is coming up in a few weeks so I’m trying to get as much details because my warranty is out so I want to do it myself to save money and learn. Anyway, I got these items for now: Castrol magnatec 5w30 A1 + oil filter + plug Denso Iridium power IT16 plugs Magnecor KV85 leads + Goodridge Hose Kit for Ford Fiesta Mk6 ST150 – on the way from UK Fuel filter (Bosch) – not sure if this one needs to be changed at 29 000km? What I’m not sure of, are the fluids for the Power steering and the procedure for changing the power steering fluid and brake fluid. For the power steering fluid should I get the original at Ford (very expensive) or is it enough that it has Ford Specs: WSS-M2C 195-A. BTW should it be red of green because I heard it should be red and one guy at parts shop told me that my car uses green fluid like Mercedes? Is 1L enough for flushing? For the procedure for changing/flushing, I saw 2 procedures mentioned here on the forum: 1.Remove plugs and then drain/refill be “powering up” a few times (I don’t know if this is healthy) 2.Turn the car on and refill from the top while draining (fluid goes very quickly out so it could be a problem?) For the brake fluid change, I got that bleeding tool from eBay so I’m hopping I’ll be able to do it. What about: ”bleed the clutch hydraulics as they use the same fluid as well”. Is this for Fiesta also? Cheers.

you cant adjust the clutch as its hydraulic, and should be fine at the mileage you have, and the air con as long as it is cold should be fine also.

Clutch fluid is coming from the same tank as the brake fluid right? Is it going to be flushed along with the brake fluid lines/tank when I use the bleed kit from eBay? thanks.

yes they share the same tank, just keep an eye on the level and the clutch will be ok, dont let the level drop to far.

i think they say to take the spark leads off because if you do it while the engine is running the fluid pisses out pretty quick. i did mine with the engine running and then my mate dropped a jug of fluid all over my engine bay :-/

that's what I thought, but why crank the engine at all if turning lock to lock with raised wheels is pumping the fluid out easy? Maybe there is a reason that I don't see?
Also ETIS says "Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector". I don't understand why and didn't really find this connector.
BTW the ford dealership put the red ATF fluid inside on the last service interval and not the green stuff.
Bad luck on the spill :-(. You had a bad time cleaning that up I bet.

i think cranking over without the leads is a bit quicker than going lock to lock. to me it seems like a bit too much effort taking the leads off! not too sure about the crankshaft sensor, probably can go out of sync if its being cranked over for a while. yeh had to power wash it off and then enjoy the lovely smell of hot fluid when i was driving for a week

well it was quite easy and fast to do it without cranking the engine. I just want to be sure that there is no other reason except speed.
I like the smell of hot power steering fluid in the morning .

ha, I just realized (and checked with Ford) that I lost the paint/rust warranty (12 years) because I'm, not going to them for my yearly service schedule . It's complete BS. Oh, well, they would take so much cash from me in 12 years for these "services" that I can probably buy another car by then . That's a thanks for not taking them to court for all the BS and frauds they did to me and my car, some stuff also very illegal .

Thats rubbish, the paint check at my dealers is a seperate thing and they charged me £5 odd to fill the paint check part of the service book in, whats the bodywork got to do with the mechanical side of things, phone them up and complain and tell them your going to get in touch with ford themselves.
