I was just after some advice about installing a Sat Nav system into my ST.

At the Moment i have the Sony Audio system (No bluetooth add on) in and I want to swap it out for a sat nav unit that can bluetooth to my iphone, act as a sat nav with a smart 7 inch screen. etc etc.

Basically, is this an easy thing to do? and what do i need to look out for when looking for a sat nav 7 inch screen replacement. I have seen plenty around but i dont want to go fork out on one and find that i have overlooked something!!

although the sony unit is great

It is a straight swap also you will need to buy a surround think they are about £15

On a facelift you'll need to get a double din adaptor that fills the gap around the unit, an ISO adaptor from standard aftermarket wiring to ford wiring, an aerial adaptor, release keys for your old h/u

You can source all the bits seperately too, and you can get ISO adaptor kits with stalk control wiring as well.. It's a start for you though

Depending on how the bluetooth kit works it can be very easy, If it's built into the main unit like mine it has a tiny usb adaptor module, just plug it in to one of the 2 usb slots, set up your pairing, then select Bluetooth source and your away mate!
