Im sure there's a website somewhere where you can complain about potholes and where you can take further action provided the pothole is deep enough and wide enough but i don't know it. Try googling for it.

what ever you do dont get them to fill it before your claim is sorted. some guy did in northampton before they processed his claim and they started saying that the pot hole doesnt exist so he cant claim even though it was one of there agencies that filled it in

Have a look on http://www.fixmystreet.com/ and http://www.potholes.co.uk/ If the pothole was reported more than seven days ago, then you have a case aganist them. If it wasn't, then you don't.

Just to add, and I know this wouldn't have affected this one s it's deeper, but councils are now changing the defintion of potholes to save money. It used to be the case that anything 25mm or greater (~ 1 inch) was a pothole, now it's 40mm or greater (~ 1.6 inches):

Just move the boundary to suit themselves.

The problem is... road tax doesn't go on the roads... there shouldn't be a 0.5inch pot hole or one over 1.6inch in the first place.

Salford council have spent 6 weeks and god knows how much dosh tarting up a roundabout but have complete ignored the 1 ft wide, 2 foot long 4 inch deep pothole and the grand canyon that is between the 2 lanes on the roundabout road surface which you could loose a small family down!!!!..... its not that they dont have the money to fix them they just have no feckin idea how to apply the correct resources to the issue
