Basically what Micky said but I never disconnected the battery, I just unplugged the cables under the seat Just be careful doing it mate if you havent already, it is quite easy to break the plastic box covering the cable conectors...
Edit: If you want to remove the seat completely you'll have to cut some cable ties that tidy the seat belt cables and keep them from being knocked

your brother is a bad bad man. not only has he left 2 cans of strongbow undrunk, but he also left them in a position where they have been broken and wasted. he should be banned from buying and drinking strongbow ever again
