Has anyone changed their ST Noddy Car horn for something that sounds better?

If you've changed the horn what did you use, and was it a difficult job, I believe the biggest problem is the amount of room available for the replacement.

Finally, does the facelifted ST still have the stupid single tone horn?

Thanks,
James

Nope, not an odd complaint at all.

A few people have changed the frankly rubbish horn. They replaced it with a Focus twin-tone horn, which is a direct replacement. As far as I know the facelift ST does not have a different horn.

Maybe its just me been stupid then, but whats a 2 tone horn?? i can't see why you would want your horn to make more than 1 noise

You'll be able to get a crazy frog horn next!

Oh no, it's nothing like that. 2 tone horns play 2 notes at the same time, and gives a much greater prescence. I thought most modern cars had em till I bought a mk6 Fiesta. Single tone sounds sooo weedy.

so are we saying that the twin tone focus horn can be straight swapped to the fiesta st without changing or adding any different wiring? is the focus horn the same as the focus st170 horn or different.

I don't think you can modify the original setup, you would have to re-wire a complete new one because it will cause too much resistance on the circuit.

No, you're probably right. the easiest thing is to straight swap it for a Focus one like people have done

Old shape focus Scott. However, I shouldn't think the horn design would have changed with the new shape. Not sure about the Transit horn
