Driving yesterday for a few hours, down country lanes etc. Noticed that when I brake and down change, as soon as I hit the clutch something starts to squeek, then when i re-engage the gear it stops??

Tried hard breaking and soft breaking without changing gear... nothing. Soon as I change gear whilst breaking it starts. Not every time though just seems to be a bit random.

Is this normal and i have never noticed it before or is there something wrong?

Cheers

well you can drive with them going but eventually they will go and you will have to get a new clutch your probably get one before it goes as the sound is unbearable specially in traffic and people look at you funny.

service wouldn't of picked up on it mate because it wont effect the clutch until they completely go.

Ride it out until it gets too much for you mate i guess thats the only thing you can do if you want peace of mind take it back to ford explain the problem and as for their opinion

if its not in warranty dont take it to ford they will charge you a stupid amount of money to put a new clutch in and they will charge you for them to look at it lol take it to your local friendly garage

Well been driving it today and it very rarely does it, but noticed today it was doing it without me touching the clutch. So could be the brakes maybe? But only does it at a certain speed. Never when I'm going slow and never when I brake hard. Only when I'm gradually slowing down to change into third (hence why I thought it might be to do with the clutch).
Any ideas?

Obviously its coming from the front? is it when your brakes are warmed up? or cold?

Seems like more so when they are warmed up, and id say it sounds more like from towards the back i.e. I only hear it when the windows are down and it sounds like its coming from behind my right shoulder

Exhaust or handbrake cable?

I didn't think my exhaust was making any noise, even strapped it up with rope to try and stop it, greased the mounts and it stopped straight away...

Right narrowed this down.
It only happens when i'm doing between 40-50 and breaking... nothing to do with gears so cant be a clutch bearing.
break pads maybe? as mentioned though only had a service not that long ago, is this not something they would have looked at?
