go to Google Maps and then click 'get directions'

then input that you want directions from Japan to China.

then scroll down the list of directions to number 42....

It is a bit random, but I know mapmakers put odd little mistakes in so that they can catch rivals out if they're just copying their maps rather than doing their own work.

Perhaps Google are doing the same and putting the odd random thing in for the same reason.
