You definitely need four that I do know. Couldn't tell you part numbers though. Denso iridiums are also a good shout but i dont think theyre cheap

Ford as standard use NGK iridium but brand them as their own Ford ones. I bought the NGK ones off ebay from someone called budget-car-parts, this is the link I used:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120722480406#ht_1044wt_1141

Were the cheapest I could find by far and were proper NGK ones. Fully boxed and everything.

Laser Iridium® spark plugs provide superior ignitability and long service life whereas the IX plugs are designed specifically for the performance enthusiast. Iridium IX® offers extreme ignitability, improved throttle response and superior anti fouling.

That's what i've understood through the NGK website. I got the laser ones (which I linked to above).

I struggle to believe there would be any real noticeable difference though.

Bit off topic, but you can't buy spark plugs in 5 or 6 packs can you? Just I remember speaking to someone about this and how thats a bit rubbish if you have more than 4 cylinders, although I guess the same if you have 3 lol

If you had a car with more or less than 4 cylinders then your pack of spark plugs would come with the correct number. You will however pay proportionally more (or less) for the plugs so arn't receiving any kind of benefits:

As an example, the NGK Laser plugs are £22 or so for our Fiesta ST (4 cylinder)

The NGK Laser plugs for for the Mondeo ST220 though with its V6 (6 cylinder) engine are £32 or so:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Mondeo-3-...6#ht_1130wt_907

You can of course just buy plugs in singles, useful if one plug breaks down for any reason.
