I don't think you should do engine flushes unless their is a real problem, no idea for the differing results there but if it feels better, fine. If you haven't got cams then your not going to make more than what you had before. Every car should be given a bit now and then or just a good short motorway run every now and again if you do mainly urban commutes, no need to redline it neither.

This is probably the stuff - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Forte-...=item1e65a9109eMy cousin uses flushes in cars on a regular basis, diesel cars especially as diesel clogs all sorts of things up, EGR valves are common for clogging up also sticking injectors, Newer diesels with DPF filters in the exhaust cause the engine warning light to come on if the cars not thrashed now and again, Just thrashed a mates Leon FR 170 Deisel cos the DPF light came on, the heat burns the soot out the filter.

I think the problem some people put forward with engine flushes is that it can clean out dirt which has actually become a part of the engine. For example dirt that is in cracks and seals and stuff. Hence after it, the cracks and seals can deteriorate very quickly as they are no longer protected with that dirt. I'm sure pro's know what they're talking about though.
I just hope it wasn't a tetrosyl product ;-)

EGR valves suck. I'm forever cleaning them out in work. Hate them.

This Forte (Thanks Stiffy ) stuff has a range of products, there is oils to use after the flush that replace lubricants on seals and piston rods. and some stuff which fortifies that. Well i was open to the idea i took it and im genuinely impressed the car certainly doesn't feel tired.

Although, I agree with the opinion that a car does need opening up now and again as well. Not when cold obviously but once warmed up a spirited drive doesn't hurt at all.

well considering its torque limited in 1st and 2nd i think he was trying to pull a fast one. dont get me wrong mate, but there is no way you should be seeing 190 without cams and your still running the standard map. just dont want you to be caught with your pants down. and dont forget its easy for the tuner to make the rollers overread....not that i would say they would do such a thing see you sunday matey Dal
