A house woo!

My offer has been accepted. Big garage for the car and the cleaning gear, plenty of space for an xbox room (I'm a bit of a geek) and loads of horrible carpet from the 1920s to rip up

the nicest part of widnes lol. Front drive could probably fit bout 5 fiestas on hehe. Didnt want to move to the ghetto... I mean Runcorn hehe. The house needs completely re decorating and a bit of work so it's bout 30k cheaper than others on the same road.

Yeh I'm still a bit skeptical if we will actually get it. I've got a meeting with a mortgage advisor tomorrow and he reckons everything will go quite smoothly because I'm not in a chain and neither is the person I'm buying it from! How long did it take to get your mortgage approved matey?

2 and a half weeks, mine was a bit more complex because my share holdership status in the family business but I would allow 10day to a couple of weeks depending on who you are getting it from

Once you get that sorted it's alot smoother, just make sure you phone every single day otherwise they do not do anything, keeps the vendor happy if you can give the estate agent a running update on what's going on, don't forget to get a solicitor for the searches etc, which I wouldn't start until you have had the survey done, we lost alot of money as the survey came back bad, so lost all the money for the searches and the arrangement fee on the mortgage aswell

Also with the mortgage don't just look at monthly repayments, look at the arrangement and booking fee, and the cost or valueation/survey

You probably know most of this but it's what I have learnt going through the process, so you don't make the mistakes I have

Just filled the form for the solicitor and the mortgage broker has agreed that we can keep up with the payments. Just gotta decide about the length of term. The house has been taken off the Market and nobody else can view it so I suppose that's a good thing.

Cheers for the advice matey.
