Can anyone help me? i have got a 60mm throttle body when i got it, it was fine however i left it on the table in the hall and someone knocked it over now the computer chip (i think its a chip) has fallen out and the plastic holding it in has broken so i cant refit it. can someone look at there standard throttle body for me and tell me what the chip code is (the chip code is the number on the pastic part of the throttle body) its next to the place where the tb is plugged into the car. can i use the outer plastic casing from the 55mm tb on my 60mm tb? can i get a new plastic casing and chip if it does not or do i have to get a whole new throttle body?

Super glue it back on. Luckily the electrics didn't get damaged!

That just looks like a cover protecting the connector.
Super glue the plasti bit back on, job done.

i super glued it back on and i will fit it soon and see if it still works, when you fit a 60mm throttle body how long does it take for the car to adapt to it? next time i get a part i'm fitting it the day i get it! i have been acting like a madman all day it put me in one hell of a mood. it's still not as bad as the day my center cap getting stolen within a day of me getting my wheels done and my wheels are matte black too you would not be able to put it on another car so some little scumbag stole it out of pure spite. anyway thats my rant over i can go back to being happy thank's for the help i was in such a rage i forget to even think about super gluing it back on lol

No problem mate.
Just whatever you do, do not rag the crap out of the car for the first 50 miles. Allow the engine to adapt, and once you feel happy that the car is better, have fun.

try above and if not swap casings, guessing it only manages the throttle opening and the only difference is the width anyone ?

i have superglued it back on but to be honest i would much prefer to swap the casing but i am not sure if it will be possible because of the width difference-it might tell the engine to burn more petrol or something along those lines. i was thinking about asking ford but they will probably tell me i need a whole new tb or quote me more for a new casing then i paid for the whole unit. my main worry with the superglue is will it withstand the temps of the engine bay?

What is the reason for not ragging it from the start? (Once you know it has been fit correctly)? The ECU adapts to the driving style so if the ECU learns that you like to go fast it consequently makes the car faster by adapting the fueling, etc. Surely to not rag it from the start would cause it to switch to "granny fueling"?
Just playing devils advocate here.
