How much does anyone know about web cams? I currently use a web cam to talk to my GF over MSN but when the internet traffic gets busy it makes an awful sound and then we can't hear anything. Does anyone know of any good software that can simply be used to talk to one PC only? so not MSN, Skype or anything like that? I've tried various but do not seem to get anywhere. Any help is very welcome.

Cheers

I use mine quite alot to chat to friends and to winde up Chris(sussex) and Jonsey But sometimes the audio on it goes really slow, Jonesy says its like talking to a Dinosaur. no matter how many times you disconnect and re connect it sometimes does it, im not too sure if there is anything you can get such as a filter or anything, what Internet connection are you on (broadband etc) I sometimes use Yahoo to speak to a friend in Arazona thats quite a good one to use!

Sorry for the giberish Pc's arent my best subject hehe. I hope you get it sorted though

The wireless wont affect it... thats just your internet connection...

It will be a problem with either MSN being a *** or your webcam software.

What webcam are you using btw?

Also, a good way of connecting Webcams without much problem is though an ancient program called "Netmeeting"...

If you have any probs with yahoo, give us a tinkle and ill sort u out.

Take Care,

Scotty

Cheers Scotty,

I've purchased two Logitec STX web cams, both very fast spec so i don't think its the camera's. So far i've tried MSN, Google Talk, Skype and Camfrog plus the Logitech Software that came with the camera. All of which have the same problem, the images transmit ok but after about one minute of web chat the sound has an eppy and just sounds like a load of wasps, MSN say its due to the amount of traffic going through!! Whats NetMeeting then? i'll have a look on Google but yes if you could help me out in anyway that would be great cheers.
