I have just bought a spray paint can from Halfords which is Ford Panther Black (Perleascent) which is the same colour as my car. I want to paint the grills on the front, the side panels on the doors of the car and the door handels which are now just plastic. They are also starting to fade so I think painting them will be a good idea. Does anyone know if this paint will work on the plastics?

i think Stevie did this too his plastics but certainly you can do it.

Did you buy an primer and lacquer your need both aswell.

Give it a decent etch so the primer has something to cling onto and you should be okay

the grilles i just did with normal gloss black as many others (no lacquer though)

for the bump strips I used grey halfords plastic primer, cant remember if I did one or 2 coats. Did 2 coats of panther black from halfords. sanded with a 1000 grit sandpaper between each coat. then 2 layers of clear lacquer. finish isnt perfect but its ok from a distance.
I did mine before I put them on the car though cause I bought new ones (i had different bumpstrips before, not the ST shape ones)

My door handles are original from an ST, but you should be able to do them the same way i guess.

bit of a detour off topic but is the grill in the rear bumper easy to pop out? the top tab yhat holds it in wasnt in the slot so i wasnt sure if it coulda worked itself loose or if someone tried taking.it off

I noticed my rear bumper insert was loose the other day. I think it just works it self loose every now and again, just pop it back in and job done

thats good then. was gonna glue it in with something if i thought someone was tryin to take it
