will work wonders with insurance i hope this means now that younger guys like myself can get faster, nicer cars and have them restricted like this to lower the insurance down. imagine that lol Focus RS 300BHP restricted to 90BP least it will be run in well i guess

that will be good if it has setting to the speed limits!
but if parents can set it at 40mph it will be dangerous!
whats it gonna do if someone undoes their seatbelt cut the engine or just beep? new cars beep anyway when seatbelts are not worn!

You know what Make your son or daughter buy their own first car Makes them realise the value of money and take more care in their first car I bought every car I own and you know what, touch wood, I aint had an accident to date! You appreciate it more when you work hard for it!

Sounds like there are way too many issues with this, though we'd probably need to know more. If the top speed is limited to 70mph for example, people could still speed in residential zones etc. It also doesn't address the issue of the car's power - it's not always about the speed, sometimes it's how long it takes to get to that speed. For example an inexperienced driver trying to get from 0-30, 40, 50 etc as fast as possible (with all his chavvy mates in the car) is going to be concentrating far too much on the car's speed and not enough on the potential hazards around him... (Yes I know that is a very stereotypical view and I realise not everyone is an idiot and/or chav when they are young )
