So, after two months of owning the Fezzie, there's a few things bothering me.

I had a 1.8 TDCI Focus before the ST, and I honestly don't think there's much between them in a race. The Focus was 115BHP, but I timed 0-60 in 7.4 seconds, and it would easily top 125MPH.
The ST I'v got to 120 but the revs were nearly shoving the engine through the bonnet.
Had a little race with a 106GTi the other night. I beat it, just. That has 120BHP, and a 1.6 engine. It also sits at 2600 revs @ 60mph.

The ST sits at 3000 revs. So there's no wonder the ST is a fuel guzzler.

Overall, I'm happy with the ST. It looks great, drives great (Doesn't handle anywhere near as good as the Focus though), and puts a smile on your face.
But the fact I feel my FOcus was possibly quicker and that a 1.6 106 is an adequate rival for it, can't help but feel a little dissapointed with it.

Drive it like you stole it mate, it really will be bye bye GTI. I know where you're coming from though.

MT185 will fix it.

Once I lower it I guess it will be bye bye 106. Still not 100% confident with the handling of the ST.

What did you all pay for 185 kit? Im tempted.

Isn't the 106 much lighter? You've bought the wrong car if you want something super quick. It's useful for overtaking when retards are going 30 on a 50 road.

180 KG lighter.

I don't want a super quick at the moment, but I did expect it to be much quicker than a 1.8 TDCI Focus.

Yeh I would have thought it would be quicker than a 1.8 diesel :-s I remember I got used to mine and then when I got back in my old car I was amazed how quick mine felt.

assuming this all on private roads, puzzled from your tests, the focus shouldn't beat the standard ST but the 106 likely would, it's a sub 8 second car and very very light.

your focus probably had more torque that made it feel more nippy off the line but timing a 0-60 time yourself will never be accurate

the 106 will beat a standard ST as it weighs a few hundred KG less! but i know what one i would choose to be in in a crash!

and then the focus will have a heavier engine so will stick betting in corners but then the fiesta will out handle it on speed in corners with the right tires, the tires make or break an ST!
