I am just fitting my coilovers and cannot get the top nut off from the standard shock absorbers!

I can see the nut but nothing fits!

This website says 13mm but the hole it is in is so small!

Doesn't look like a nut to me. Can you get a clearer photo?

Remove the wheel arch liner for access to the shock absorber upper mounting bolts. Support the trailing arm section of the beam axle using a trolley jack, then unscrew the shock absorber lower mounting nut and bolt, tap out the bolt, then lower the jack, slide the bottom end of the shock out of its mounting, then remove the two upper mounting bolts inside the wheel arch.

I've taken the bottom but of the shock off I just don't know how to de attach the top two bolts!

Where do I access them from?

The top 2 bolts are attached to teh car, underneath teh car under the rear arch liner there are 2 nuts, think they're 10mm, undo them and it will come off, it's like a plate that has the damper strutt through it with the nut that you have a pic of as well.

Follow the damper up to the car and you will see them.

Cool I'll have a look there next time I make an attempt !

Still got the fronts to go on so will ask some questions in another thread about them lol!

Have a look at the picture in that thread, it's headed rear top mount, that's what you're looing at.
