Down to 33% wear on my rear pads apparently so I'm going to order some new ones this week and get them all changed over on the weekend. I figured with the wheels off to do that I might as well paint the calipers whilst I'm at it! I understand that hammerite red will do the job there? Just give them a good clean down first and mask up bits I don't want red!

On the pad front I'm looking for some recommendations as this will be the first time I've changed them on the ST. On my ZR I fitted EBC pads but they can be a bit sketchy if they're not warmed up so what are you guys running on your STs?

Hmmm, I wasn't 100% on them and they're about £45 a pair for the ST so £180 to change the pads is a bit steep!

Is there a certain type that's better i.e. a spray or a brush? Or a better way to clean them?

Tin and brush - for best results give them two coats

(this isn't always possible depending upon circumstances such as weather )

THIN coats, don't just slap it on. Even if you need to do 3 or 4 thin coats it will look a million times better than if you just slap it on.

+1 otherwise it drips as well and looks naff

I used spray and did about 5 coats, 1 every 30 mins

Wow Stevie - even done the break pad!

I've done a few coats - of course some were a year apart

probably shouldn't have but I just thought screw it.
They were brand new standard pads, so I just thought they won't be coming off for a while

I once read a story of a guy who painted his discs red because he'd seen a picture of someone with drums who had painted them red.
