does lowering the have much of an effect on insurance as it doesnt make the car any faster also do lowered cars cope ok with the snowy roads due to them being lower to the ground?

You're with Greenlight, right? Only charged me an 'admin' fee

(Still mad they charge that though tbh! )

Just makes the car stiffer on the road. Insurance companies see it that you are setting the car up for racing. Snow won't make any difference unless the level or snow is higher than your car.

yeah i'm with greenlight. Thats pretty cool then coz i'm thinking of treating myself to some at christmas time as i realised how high my car is at trax compared to everyone elses lol. Do they make that much of a difference to the handling?
Hopefully the snow will never get that deep lol

Thanks forthe replies scotty and lee

Got mine lowered last week, makes a world of difference in handling its alot better.

As for Insurance it cost me £26 from now till May next year and they wouldnt insure me if it was lower than 5cm and that's with Admiral.

They do improve the handling which is great, but I have to say I noticed a difference when going over pot holes etc. Not so much that I would say don't get them though

Mine was also fine in the snow last year...

Oh I have 35mm eibach springs btw

Lowering stiffens the ride so less bodyroll therefore increase the handling abilities.

Insurance wise, its all about how 'desirable' your car is to others (how likely it is to be nicked) nothing to do with making it faster. So modding makes it more attractive = higher premiums

Lowering is well worth it, makes the car handle so much better. My insurance went up £50 when I declared it but I was 19 then. My car was an epic snow plow during the winter time last year though...

Get some coilovers? Cost more but you can adjust the height as you like*

*At least I think that how it all works, I'm currently standard (so feel free to ignore me ) but if I ever decide to lower I'd replace the lot, not just the springs.

And then with your mountune 185 you'd have a fun track day option if you wanted.

To be honest when I look back at how the car used to look I can't believe I didn't lower it sooner... it's like it was on stilts!
