Hey Guys and girls,

As you may have all seen the current banner on the top of this site. If the pictures in the above thread haven't caught your attention for sticking your neck out and coming along... maybe having a look through the dedicated threads in the link below might.

http://st-rs.co.uk/index.php?/forum/76-nurburgring-visit-2012

COME ON PEOPLE... have a look through the posts that have been added... seriously, it's a fantastic experience. We would have a real good time away and you could return home and say you've drove around the Alps and one of the best driving roads in the world... The Stelvio Pass!!!

How much is it likely to cost roughly, given petrol, hotels, food, drink and more than likely a set of tyres lol.

Extremely interested though, sounds great!

Loads of info on ST-RS about this... don't want to duplicate things.

You won't need a set of tyres... looning it around 1000ft drops is probably not the best of ideas... i suspect that if you did try this, tyres would be the least of your worries.

I managed to drive 4,500 miles to Kefalonia, through the Alps twice and down the Autobahn at 150mph on a set that i've had on since summer 2009 and they are still on now.

It would jus be petrol... hotels/camping... food and pocket money you would need.

Not even a new set of tyres bearing in mind we're going on the track as well? :P

The track is only 14miles long... if you was doing a full track day around a track for 20 laps screeching your tyres then i'd say, consider your tyres.

Unless you are thinking of gunning it around, which unless your names Sabine Smit you will probably end up in an accident or stuck in traffic.

I'll stick my neck out and say... if you have more than 4-5mm of tread then even with driving a few laps around the ring and going around the alps etc. You will be absolutley fine.

Are you thinking of coming along KrAwl?

Random question - do they definitely sell premium petrol (V Power etc) on the continent? (assume they do)

Yes, it is actually better quality too at 99 octane... and in Germany they sell racing fuel at over 100 octane... It was fantastic in the last year!!!

My ONLY runs on 97+ so already did the research on this for the 2009 Trip. Fuel is an easy find on the continent.
