You could always go and buy the leather ford official one on ford parts for £16! Saves all this messing around malarky!

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.
I've got a new gear knob and leather gaitor to fit onto my I've found the previous How To thread by Chris, but my main problem seems to be getting the bottom of the gaitor to fit inside the console (the round plastic bit at the bottom of the rubber gaitor). We tried at Ford Fair and it just wouldn't stay in place. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it to stay in place? Do I use blue tac? It is annoying me now as can't figure out how to do it.
Many thanks.
Steph
Ahh! Bloody 'ell Steph, why didn't you shout out more at FF. The Leather'et' gaitor only fits on one way. Look at the shape of the bottom of the rubber Gaitor you take off, and the shape of the gear surround. Match the shape and fix.
Well Looey had a go, but it didn't seem to fit. Don't know if it's a "et" one. Lozzy kindly gave it to me. Still super confused. Gonna have a go over weekend but will put up a photo if still struggling...
Its easy steph! Just takes a bit of time! If I had known u were trying at Ford Fair I would have given u a hand! Just get a blunt knife and slowly go around the edging (bare in mind it will keep popping out) Just have patience

use the old one- no point p*ssing around cut off the bottom, attach the leather one to this and jobs a goodun! took me 5 minutes and has lasted 18 months (even with me vacuuming the dust out of the recesses of it every month or so)
