I want to paint my brake callipers yellow, but i dont know what the best paint to use is? I would say hammerite but they dont seem to do bright yellow.

Also do you need to use primer before you paint them??

Just a warning, I wouldn't use Hammerite if you're going on track - 'someone I know' did that, mixed red and yellow hammerite to get orange, painted his calipers and drums, then a few months later went round Lydden Hill. The brakes heated up, melted the paint, and the inside of his alloys went orange lol

I wanted to do mine yellow but them thought otherwise. I bet it will look the nuts on yr white ST. Good luck, shouldnt take you very long but plan that you will probably not be able to drive the car for the rest of the day of a few decent hours at least

Cheers.

Nothing overly decent, I'll get some tomorrow if I remember. The wheels/brakes are filthy though

I left mine on, just make sure its dry before you put the wheel back on tho. I had a drip on mine for ages

Thats with a pot of paint so no masking, spray paint is a lot of masking up

So i painted my calipers yesterday. I used the yellow hammerite. It looks really good fair play.

I went into my local B&Q and i was told not to use hammerite as it catches fire. lol. Was told to go to halfords and get some of there High temperature paint but sods law they didnt have any in yellow. So i thought bugger it. my mated dad used hammerite on his scooby and thats been fine.

Ill get some pics up next week when ive washed the car

everyone uses hammerite mate, I used red on my calipers and not had a problem yet!
not as if you're painting your engine with it so seems highly unlikely it'd catch fire
