Got up this morning, got ready for work. Went down to get in the car as I do every day only to find that both drivers side wheels have had their centre caps stolen!!! Was fuming and I still am To the berk that thought he (or she) would take my caps instead of buying some of their own, F you! They were there last night so they have not fallen off whilst driving.

Anyway I just had to vent. Apologies if this was a pointless read.

I hear what you're all saying about them being a poor design and to take them off. It's a shame though cause I really do like the alloys with the centre caps on. I've seen STs with other brand rims but I really think the standard rims suit the car so well and I'm not that keen on the centre cap-less look. However I may have to look into it. Still pretty p'd off. I even reported it to the police and local council. I have to park my car in a public/residential car park over night. I tried looking to see if there is a CCTV camera somewhere this morning but I was in a rush so no luck. I have asked the police and council if there are cameras but I have a feeling there aren't. Doubt I'll get far but worth a try I guess. Oddly enough there is an ST which uses the local YMCA/Gym which doesn't have centre caps. Would be a strange coincidence if they suddenly had some. The paint was starting to come off around the edges of mine as well so they are quite distinguishable...might have to have a nose around next time I see it (not to steal them back, just to check).

After having 2 whole sets stolen off my I thought i would give the low life Thicko's something to think about if they stole another set.

From the back .... written with a Permanent marker which will be Etched over into the plastic when i get some time.......

I'd rather them end up in a bin than have the thieving scum bags make money out of the theft!!!

Do it You could even Etch in, covered with a permanent Marker... 'Stolen from' .. your reg number.

If we ALL did this i'm sure the thieving scum will tire from attempting to remove the Evidence.

Extremely frustrating. This is the first time I've had something nicked like this as well so I'm so damn annoyed...and I love my little ST to bits so it makes it even worse. Definitely going to use Kev's idea. Probably won't stop a thief but who knows...a good samaritan ebayer may report them if they bought it. May even try putting some bonding agent or silicone underneath the caps to make them stick on...can always pry it off if need be.

Sad thing about all this is that there is this great community of ST owners...and then you've got t**ts like that driving around in them with no respect or sense of common decency. Some muppet was driving along...saw my car and thought 'ooo I need 2 centre caps, rather than buy 2 I think I'll just nick them on that chaps car...not my problem if he cares'. God how I wish I caught him in the act.

Anyway...

I've also noticed that the front wheel doesn't have the metal dome/cap cover thingy over the centre bolt (sorry but that is the only way I can think to describe it). No idea if this was stolen as well or has just fallen off in the past before I owned the car. Looks damn ugly without it...but my main concern, is this a problem?

The Front wheels do not have a centre cover under the trim, just a rusty nut.
