Ooh help!

My PC keyboard has small bits and crumbs stuck underneath the keys..Ive tried loads of ways to try and get them out without having to pull the keyboard apart..
..How do you take the keys off the board and is it actually a good idea

If your not bothered where the crumbs go then try a hair dryer. Always works a treat!

Wash it!

I know that sounds wierd, but as long as you let the keyboard dry out fully before you plug it back, in it will be fine.

Stick it in your dish washer!

Sounds risky! Have you ever tried this yourself?

No But I looked into it once as I had the same problem.

You should be able to do this with almost any electrical item, as after all the are only plastic and a bit of metal. As I said just make sure its bone dry before you use it.
Have you ever droped you phone down the bog? left it to dry and then it Bingo! It works.

With just some rain??!! Thats awful. I think it should have come with a warning "Not for outdoor use"!!

I wouldn't recommend washing it in the dishwasher. People are always advised not to drink around a keyboard in case they knock it over. And from personal experience I know that my keyboard objected strongly to me giving it a pint of beer, bloody lightweight!

Yep, it can't have got that wet but a bit must have got inside the cover and broke it. I took it back and they sent it off for repair, but they said it wasnt covered because of water damage. So from my experiences of water and electrical equipment i wouldnt advise putting a keyboard in the dish washer either!

I think its because circuit boards are so delicate these days that the slightest bit of rust can short them out (Thats how o2 explained my phone not working anyway!)

My god everyone... the keys are a piece of cake to take off...

I have to clean mine out all the time as im always eating by my computer and eventually the keys wont go down lol.

Anyway... right first thing is... get a pen and paper... and draw a keyboard and where all the keys go... best to actually write it as u will know the key sizes etc then, rather than printing a pic off the net.

Then...

Get a normal knife that u eat ur food at dinner (you know the bluntish ones) and then put it under say the CTRL key at the bottom left of the keyboard and just flick it off, they are only pushed into place so come out with no problem.

Then wash all the little keys in a bowl with soap... then put them on the side to FULLY dry out for a few hours.

Whilst ur doing this get the vaccum and vac the keyboard, then get a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the dirt.

Put the keys back on...

Bam... brand new keyboard, no cost with just an hours work.

Hope this helps

Yes, that would be a good idea to take a note as to where they all go before taking them out. You don't want all the keys to be laa mullddel pu wnhe uoy upt tehm bcak!!
