Still impacts on the "renewal" cost... just doesn't affect your no claims total.

No worth it to be honest they stick the price up like scotty said, unless if you did approach them and quote the damage you could say that you wont take this with legal action through the insurance?

Since there is no evidence of the lorry that shed the tyre it's impossible to claim on another insurance.

Sorry to hear about this, it's just one of those things that you've just got to grin and bear it. No chance of claiming on your insurance but at least you're ok which is the main thing and the damage could have been worse.

Sometime freak things happen. When I was 18 I was stuck behind a flatbed lorry when a bit of pipe about a foot long came bouncing off the back of it. With a wall to the left of me and traffic coming the other way on the right I just had to brace myself with everything going in slow motion before I hit the pipe and the windscreen was then covered in glass. After slowing down and stopping I found that one of front headlights was completely gone, the front left wing was mangled to bits and this had pushed part of the bonnet in also. After I'd cleared the glass from the light off the windscreen I saw a mark on the roof just above the windscreen from where the pipe had hit the roof before bouncing off to... somewhere!! Scary to thinbk it could have gone straight through. (It hadn't hit anyone else as nobody stopped, just got a load of beeps and v-signs for pulling over and holding people up). Like you I couldn't claim as I'd no number for the lorry. In these cases you're more concerned about looking after yourself than thinking about noting numbers down!

Just got to keep your chin up mate and put it down as just bad luck. Hopefully it may not cost as much to put right as you think.

Indeed bad times.

I can't see how bad the damage is but if it's only the bumper and repair is expensive maybe find one from a brakers yard it's the same on the zetec s right so there should be quite a few around.

its mainl just lots of scuffs and one of them feels a bit deepish. think i'll try stasons company see if i can get a quote from them if not lots of touch up paint.
Thats pretty bad what happened to you chris glad you were ok. There should be like a fund you can go into to get repairs caused by things like that for the public and i hope the crese in your bonet can be pushed out dan.
Would you need a special type of t-cut to use on panther black if that could maybe get rid of the marks?
