Hi guys,

Following my recent polls regarding declaring mods on insurance and undercutting mileage, I thought it would be interesting to survey you all on what brand of petrol you most commonly use. I am looking to know what you put in your ST as opposed to your other vehicles.

I have chosen some of the most common fuel companies based on information from PetrolPrices.com.

If you use another brand please state what. Your expansions and reasons why are all appreciated.

Some things I would be particularly interested to know are:

Does anyone choose to use the premium fuels such as BP Ultimate, Shell V-Power or equivalent?

If so, how have you found the improvements for performance, economy or value for money?

Why do you choose to use a particular brand of fuel?

Does anyone go particularly out of their way for fuel?

Voted bp ultimate unless there's a shell

Shell V-power all the time!

Always basic Shell if I can, car seems to run better on it

Tesco in Minehead, shell in Birmingham- standard every time

momentum 99 only because its the closest and best fuel conveniently near me without a doubt i'd use shell v power if there was a garage near me

Usually use tesco momentum 99 but the car loves shell.v power

Standard Shell for me. I've heard that the higher octane stuff does nothing at least on a standard if there's a techincal reason why this is true/false it'd be good to find out.

Shell V-Power read a lot of horror stories about other brands so that's all I use. Plus it's a fun drive to the Shell garage, completely out of my way

Voted for what I did with the ST when I had it, what fuel I put in it had no effect what so ever, and probably doesn't tbh

Purely for convenience plus i have 45,000 nectar points

It was BP until recently - the nearest Shell is an hour away - however that's shut for the next few months so I'm using Texaco at the moment.

He have no supermarket petrol station in our town, so all the petrol stations are about 3p/l More than the average petrol price. I'm using ordinally unleaded mostly from the shell garage although if I need fuel and I'm in another town where it's cheaper I'll fill up whatever I'm near to!

I don't go out of my way to get good fuel. I use Texaco 97 ron high octane stuff and thats only if the pump is free lol

Tesco's as its nearer plus i use my clubcard a lot
