Other than FFST my favorite forum is PigeonWatch. I am into shooting and it's great to have some craic with people of the same interests.

I was thinking it would be great to have a FFST chat room as I see a lot of users are online when I am. I use the forum more for asking questions and creating polls rather than trawling through posts as for some reason I find this much more interesting but I would still like to have a chat with you guys and gal's when you've got nothing better to do.

I don't imagine this suggestion would have a huge cost attached and could be a lot of benefit to the FFST community.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I agree it's a nice idea but I'd imagine you'll be advised by the mods to head over to ST-RS where they have a chatroom

Chat room and shout box over there

As advised before. The forum base is too old for a chat room or box. If i added it then the SQL would explode and crash the server (as happened before).

Log onto ST-RS.co.uk and there is a shout box there... it works well...When the show season starts back up the site will kick off again

I have two niggles with the shoutbox on the other site that may be fixable:

1) The shoutbox is quite small so it only shows two or three messages. This is an issue when trying to follow the conversation as you have to do lots of scrolling around. It would be nice if there was a little button that would make the shoutbox full screen in a new window, a bit like a forum thread then.

2) When scrolling down the ST-RS page using a trackerpad or mouse wheel, every time the cursor goes over the shoutbox it starts scrolling that instead. This is made frustrating by the shoutbox spanning the whole width of the ST-RS page so the cursor can't possibly miss the shoutbox.

with the your first question, if you click on the shoutbox icon on the top page it will open to a bigger box ie you can see about 18 replys hope this helps,

and the 2nd qusetion,yes i also have the same problem and ill see if the team can sort something out, but for know there is a (-) sign on the shout box that will close it and a + to reopen it,

still think the layout from ST-RS should be put on this site, but thats my opinion

I know what you are staying Dsn. It's a tough one. I had a vote on changing it and it was majority voted 'against' changing it. This is why ST-RS was created. I may change it in the future if it gets decided? Can talk about it as time goes on

Kenny - you are spot on with what you said. There is a mobile viewing format if this affects people using tablets.
