Yep Dan i done the exact same as you and it's worked a treat, as for the speakers I think there great for standard much better than my mates Corsa VXR

standard are good enough if you update the headunit
if you don't wanna update the headunit, update the speakers.

ah well I've got the ford 6006 cd changer head unit...must not be up to par with the sony unit then. It's not awful...but I've heard better.

I had the ford 6006 once then changed to the nice Sony one and my sound quality improved quite a fair bit must have a better amplifier I suppose. I've now blown one of the front speakers so looks like I'll be getting some for Christmas lol
