Hey guys,

Just got round to using the heated screen and it appears to be doing the same as what it did in my Mk5, that is perfectly demisting the passenger side, but the odd stripe towards the drivers side.

I suspect a few of the elements aren't connected/working correctly, is it repairable or do I have to replace the entire screen?

I'll take a photo in the morning with what its doing.

Cheers,
Nick

if its under 3 years old, warranty job, if its over, hammer through the screen. but check with your insurer first if full cover is included and what the excess is. it wont affect your no claims bonus tho so dont worry

56 plate registered in 07... I do have a warranty on the car though (but a third party one). Good idea - I'll query it with them

That never occurred to me haha

Hmm, just to get the legal stuff out of the way I have to say to be careful about this. I'm sure they can tell the difference between a crack that's just happenned and it getting smashed in, which even if you claimed had been malicious damage or whatever, would go down as a "normal" claim and not a windscreen replacement which you don't have to declare as a claim. Obviously as a site we cannot condone anyone encouraging people to commit insurance fraud.

I think mine used to do this as well. But it did clear in the end, just not as fast as the other side. Stupid!
