Coolant needs topped up. Just rang local dealership & service centre.

£27.25 for 4L or £6.29 1L (cheaper by the litre?). Does that sound right and does anybody use anything but this stuff?

Turns out the Ford stuff is cheaper

Can't image it will do any harm so will pick a litre up tomorrow night

actually there is a story that you could mess gaskets or something if you put the wrong cooling liquid inside. there are few standards for this around, and not all of them are compatible, at least that's what I read around the net.
In any case I would put the original Ford if your not sure. I did it like that cos I wasn't sure.
cheers.

red and blue can not be mixed unless you want coolant as thick as syrup... however purple can be mixed with both....

2L bottle of concentrate anti-freeze from halfords mixed correctly is fine... the pink stuff....

Should be cheaper buying the 4L, seems strange.

As the other have said, don't mix the anti-freeze. Also, don't put too much anti freeze in as this can damage the radiator and engine. I would reccomend anyone purchasing an anti-freeze tester, these cost about £6.99.

You must use the Red coolant in these cars! .. 50/50 mix would be perfect (ie: get the non-diluted product and mix it yourself) ..

Most premix products will be more like a 30/70 mix so I wouldn't use any of them personally.

Make sure you use distilled water to mix .. DO NOT USE TAP WATER!

Tap water is no problem... The anti-freeze is also designed to prevent corrosion and build up of minerals

£6.29 I would imagine - just picked a bottle up. Will top it up when I can see what I'm doing
