...does the have many "common" faults?

Its just that theres loadsa threads on here and everyone seems to have the sames problems????

As you may or may not know Im thinking about buying one but I wont if they are problem cars!!!!

I think every car by any manufacturer has "common faults"
From what I've seen of the there aren't many major problems, as the car is also relatively new (only been on the market for 2 years) there will inevitably be some design & mechanical glitches, the facelift should have helped iron a few out. Like the revving and starting issues, 6006CDC errors etc

Are there any problem in particular that concern you?

...and no not anything in particular, just seems so many people seem to have problems with theirs!

don't forget many of the people that joined this forum bought the ST when is was only a few months out, thats pretty early and so bound to be a few niggles to iron out. Some of them, like the revving is prob quite a complicated (but not serious) issue with the ECU and so takes time to correct. But as gareth says, i'm sure these have mostly been ironed out with the facelift.

You also have to remember that not all that many people will log on and say how wonderful they find the car, most people only post if they have problems with the car.
Also all cars have 'common' faults because they are all designed and built the same way, doesn't matter who you buy your car from. I know plenty more cars/manufacturer's who have many more common faults on their cars.

Good point Mase. It should also be pointed out that so far the ST has been subject to zero recalls. Cross fingers it will stay that way. There are many much more reputable and expensive cars out there which have been recalled more than once.

I suppose i'd better add that i'm discusted at the build quality of mine.

But i've probably got a rare case.

Just to add this has been the most stressful car i've ever owned trying to get if repaired.

Im a mechanic so I apprecited that things do go wrong with motors but just seemed to be alot of common probs from what people was writing on here.
