Autoglym engine degreaser.
Cover battery, alternator and air filter, spray all over, leave for 10 minutes and then rinse off. Uncover all the items and use Autoglym plastics spray on the engine. Leaves a wet, shiny look.

Good to warm the engine before hand, idle for around 5 mins before then as previously stated cover sensitive electricals, battery etc cover bay with AG degreaser or an APC, Gunk degreaser etc, leave for 5 mins or so agitate with a brush then jet wash off or CAREFULLY hose off. If jet washing set to lower pressure than normal or stand further back and dont aim at any sensitive areas. If hosing do it quickly and dont spray for too long, jet washing is better as its high pressure but relativly low volume of water, a hose is opposite so more chance of getting water into electricals. Once dry cover with Bare bones or 303 aerospace, this is the best. A tip if using 303, spray on and leave, dont wipe you get better results with just spraying on and leaving trust me. Finally start engine and idle again to evaporate any excess water.
Hope this hlps.
