Saying you get caught with one, whats the fine etc etc, can't find anything out
Suppose to be a big restrictor on the RS so considering getting one...

if you get stopped by the police you have to go to a testing center, normally when you can, but if vosa stop you they can check it there and then and they can take your car and fine you upto £1000 and make you have to re MOT your car to get it back

So if i get stopped by the police I have a chance to go change the cat and go get tested in a couple of days??
So the likely hood of getting stopped is tiny? It must be the amount of people running decats

i did 40k miles and went to all meets, cruises, street racing events and never got stopped for having a decat with my old car, i did do a little de-tour round a vosa check point in MK once though

I do but apparently still quite restrictive, so looking into it as a possibility in the future

With the new regulations that are coming in, running a de-cat will be illegal, whereas before, if your passed the emissions, the car was legal.
So, if your running a de-cat pipe in the future, and the Police pull you over and check the car, they will void your MoT, thus making your car illegal. You will then recieve a fine (Up to the Constabulary I believe and can be hefty) and 7 days to get a fresh MoT on your vehicle, and then show them the MoT certificate.
If VOSA pull you up, it's a £1000 fine and a void MoT meaing you cannot move your car.
Hope that clarifies a few things.
