So confused!!!

My mileage is at 45k at the moment. The car has had 3 services so far, one at 13k, another at 22k and the third at 30k. I bought the car after the third service at 30k.

The first two services were at Dovercourt Ford - the original dealer. The dealer I bought the car from serviced it at another place so the 3rd year service is not a Ford service.

Just before the winter at 39k, I changed the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs.

What service is due now?! The 4th year service is due at 50k, should I wait until then and go back to Ford? By my dealer servicing the car elsewhere do I lose the paint warranty or can I get the paint inspection done anyway? Is it worth me getting it serviced at Ford or continue to do it myself or a local garage? I'm intending to keep the car long term, probably until it rusts away! lol

I would suggest an oil change every 7,000 miles. With that in mind, I would change the oil and filter and leave it at that. Then, at your next service, do the oil, filter, fuel filter, and basic checkover.

If you intend to keep the car a while, there's no harm in you carrying out the services, but, keep receipts of all parts used and write it in your service book.

ALso, you shouldn't lose your paint warranty, as long as the car is serviced at regular intervals and the book is kept up to date. (May have to use Ford approved filters).

Every 3rd service is a major one, so this one will be a minor one.

With regards to the paint warranty, have a look in the book. Even if it's not a Ford dealer who did the actual service last time, they are still entitled to put a stamp in the book for the service and should have done so, but have a check to see if there's anything stamped in the section for the paint check as well as that's a seperate section.

Hmm my car is on 31k the last service was at 24k (Or around there) I am doing an oil change on saturday...do I need a service?

I'd just carry out an oil service tbh mate.

A big service basically changes the filters, oil, checks suspension and all other components and greases the doors etc.

So, keep the oil changed at approx. 7/8K, and then do a bigger service every other. Easy to do all yourself.
