Do mountune fit uprated spark plugs in the cars when they fit the kits? Took my car to ford for a service and they reckon its got modified spark plugs

If you have aftermarket ones, I have denso, just remind garage not to replace them at service time with Ford ones whenever service schedule requires.

Ok as far as I know theyre the ones ford fitted when it was serviced just before I brought the car. My friend did it at ford so I told him to leave them in. is it important to change plugs regularly or doesnt it matter to much?

Ford ones are very good, would need to find when/mileage they are replaced on service, could be 60,000 from brand new but I am not sure, book doesn't say, anyone ?
So, if yours are new then you have some good mileage in them. Just checked mine that came out for the Denso, no make on them but does say Japan.

He just said that the tips of spark plugs were smaller than the ones he were going to put in the car. The cars only done 20000 miles

take one out gary and see what make they are.

wouldn't need plugs at 20,000, would be good to find out proper. You never know someone fitted wrong ones, who did it, if it was Ford would hope they are correct, if not Ford then more suspect.

Do they just pull out once you take a lead off or do you have to unscrew them with a spanner?

you will need the correct plug socket.

nope sorry, used to do plugs myself on my other cars, don't touch anything these days. Will be a special one encased in rubber internally.

Ideally it's a spark plug socket u need and when removing I would warm the engine up a little as they an be a bit stubborn if they haven't been removed for a while
