never had that. I think your doing far too slow a change here and too purposefully, if momentarily the engine is not in gear then it might start to think it's slowing to a stop and start to shut down the injectors like when your stopping. When changing down I usually do a racing change, and fast, always have done, so all at the same time and give the pedal a good "BLIP" of revs. I will try some deliberate slow changes tommorrow and see what happens. But what you describe is close to the other end of the spectrum here, others also report the same, mine does it. Cruising in gear and a sudden slowing of pace (traffic backing up) so off throttle for a split second, then back on and there is no immediate pick up, you have to prod the throttle to get pick up back, like the engine is switched off. Doesn't always do it but very noticeable when it does, MT say this is fine, probably again the ecu is a bit confused and wondering what to do for a split second.

That sounds quite possible, will try and quicken it up and see where it gets me. That would also probably support the reason it works sometimes, I must be doing it a little too slow. Cheers for the help as always guys On other news, I took her to 7k rpm today..... The sound is incredible, the looks I get from people, I don't think they can believe such a noise can come from 'just' a Fiesta. Love it!!!! I'm getting the car on a dyno towards the end of the month, will post up the results!

okay, tried some deliberate slow changes today, down a gear, clutch to floor for a second or so before changing or revving, nothing happens other than the revs start to drop, the car is sensing this and would drop to idle, can also sense power dropping, very much like when you reverse you will feel a high loss of power unless you really rev it hard which you don't need to as engine knows this and will cut down to only what is required. When changing down gear, you should try to do swift changes and come off the clutch quickly do not ride it, racing changes tend to be smooth and encourage you to make a fast change, keeps the revs up making for a smooth bite release and makes some nice tunes/pops......... Practice them. hope that helps.

Congrats on the figure is exactly the same as mine, my only thought on the problems is have you got oil in it, it will use it revving to 7400rpm

Not good news at all, seems like the cam chain has slipped, 8 valves bent.
sorry to hear that mate such a shame. I understand full extents of such engine damage, the pistons will obviously have made contact, have they had much valve indentation?
