it all helps and depends on what you use, when you look into what is available there are some quite expensive foam layers as well as stick on stuff. Plenty of areas you can do at the rear but I do suspect a fair bit comes also through the tailgate which is really just metal car panel and a piece of glass. I used some cheap stuff and Dynamat although that isn't strictly soundproofing stuff. At the rear I have done, boot and spare wheel well, I also have the Ford fitted boot liner which helps too, and also done under seat bench. Up front have done bonet with dynamat and also have a ford bonet soundproof cover, my cais is also lined too. My car is fairly quiet inside as Lee will testify.
