Was talking to the girl who was directing traffic and she said about people pushing in and barging their way to the pumps.

The guy next to me was clicking the pump when i got out of the car and still clicking after i filled up and went in to pay

so many morons in the petrol station this afternoon, an elderly couple filling jerry cans and putting them in the back of their 1.2 micra....

i think this is a national frenzy the government has purposely used to their advantage, fuel companies have been stock piling oil for a while.

Government is in need of instant cash...what better way to get it.

funny part is that you have to give 7 days notice for a strike so everyone is going to keep topping up for the next week at least and possibly even longer. fuel duty income over the next couple weeks is going to be sky high seeings as petrol sales are 80% up over the last few days.

No they still haven't. As I said earlier in the thread, they have to give seven days notice of going on strike. Both the union and companies are scheduled to begin talks at ACAS on Monday, so in the worst case that the talks break down then it would be at least two weeks from now before any strike begins. Add to that, according to the BBC if people fill up normally then petrol stations carry around two weeks worth of supplies at any one time. And in reality, any strike would be for a day or two - there's no such thing as all out strikes these days - so petrol stations would quickly be filled up again anyways.

There's no reason for any petrol shortage other than people panic buying when they're already got plenty in their tanks.

cycled to work today for the first time in 20+ years, it was great (apart from getting out of bed at 06.00am), roads were quiet, pleasant cool morning, tail wind, about 8 miles with my girly pump bag on my back, not sure but took less than 30mins and I clocked in at 07.26. Bloody headwind home.

Just think... 2 days time everyone will still have full tanks and getting to the petrol stations will be simple... they will be deserted lol.

Went tescos today huuuuge queues but didn't take too long in the end

idiots trying to turn right into petrol stations, still causing havoc everywhere

Drove home the long way to avoid the queues in the road

Will fill up at 10pm at night if theres no queues

i need fuel tomorrow as i only have 20 miles left in the tank and i do 15 to work, so i could end up on the side of the road with no fuel if all these idiots keep filling their tanks, just watched the news and they interviewed 2 old couples saying the queues are stupid... erm your the stupid f****ers that do 5miles a week but are filling up your tanks!

No jerry cans to be filled
Check your fuel guage, if the light isn't on your not getting any fuel

Sounds like a good idea to me
