Heyup guys,

New member from a small village called Oakham on the outskirts of Leicestershire, just bought my yesterday, there's alot of work to be done on it and have been fobbed off a bit from the w***er I bought it from, but she's an absoloute beauty and I don't regret any second of it!

On other notes I've just donated some money and was wondering how long it'll take for my posting privileges to come through as I need some desperate help with the old beaut

Cheers,
Jamie

Ah looks can be very deceptive my friend,

The front bumper catches are broken and I'm not sure what to do with it yet, the exhaust is shot but I've ordered a new one today, even though it's 'passed' it's MOT the rear brake callipers were seized and the handbrake malfunctioning but a hammer and some WD40 has sorted that out. Have forked out for a new front alloy as the one that was on was almost split clean in half, the dealer failed to mention this and I drove 200 miles home with it slowly deflating and cracking at every speed bump, still waiting to get this is writing and hopefully trading standards can do something. The front end has been resprayed very poorly but I'm saving up and forking out on a sand down for the affected area's, there's some very worrying rattles coming from her and the trackings out.

Seems like one bloody thing after the other, but I'm spending every penny I've got on making her beautiful, no expense spared she'll get there soon (:

I have lots and lots of questions mate but I'm gonna stick them all in Technical when I get privs, and well it was more of a trader, feel like going back down there and wrapping a baseball bat round his head.

Unfortunately I bought it and there's nothing I can do, fortunately I've got a good price on it and it's done less than 40,000 miles!

The major thing for me is the worrying rattle coming from the drivers side of the engine down near the pulleys, I've had a look but can't determine weather its tappets or bearings and it's getting on my nerves. Sounds more like a Diesel at the minute, doesn't change with strain on the alternator, doesn't change when moving the steering wheel and I've flushed that through today with some new PSF, wish I could get rid of that noise though it's really bugging me!

I neglected to mention all the scratches, the old boy who's had it before me wants shooting, we got a name and shame wall on here? The alloys are more curbed than I've ever seen, when all the mechanical issues are sorted my next step is aesthetic, Anthracite re-sanded wheels, the local alloy wheel bloke also seems to think my old one is repairable so I'm getting it sorted for a nice 17" spare.

Oh don't,

I'm trying to stay positive! I'm gonna turn her around though no Ford should be neglected, I'm definitely not your typical boy racer, might thrash her around but she gets a good clay, polish and wax after

welcome Jamie, doesn't sound like a good start but hey get it sorted and it's a great do it all car, the rattling sounds more serious, I would get that to Ford asap, could be a pulley tensioner on way out.
Silver looks great especially when all the plastics are darkened up.
You will enjoy time on here.
