Right so got this little problem with my boot release latch a day after I got the car back from the local Ford dealer setting me back some 300 euros for a coolant leak -_-'

The release mechanism seems to be lacking the energy needed to retract back when I press the release buttons on my dashboard or on my keys. It seems like it's trying to move however not sufficient energy is supplied or some friction is holding it back from retracting all the way. However it fully retracts and releases the boot when I use the manual solution. Any ideas?

Try moving the boot catch up a bit that's in the boot mate its 2 torque screws

I dont think it's the issue. I tried the mechanism while the boot was open so I could see what was going on and I closed the latch as if the boot were closed. Still wouldnt work unless I put in they key and fully turn

Apparently it's the solenoid. Here's some guy who replaced the solenoid showing how the mechanism works before and after the replacement

Mine still has this problem, car going for a service Friday so hopefully get it sorted then.

Is the solenoid a cheap part??
