You can use it, but the finish will be terrible on a smooth surface such as plastics.

I used hammerite straight to rust paint on my calipers and fog rings and finish was good on both if that helps??

I was going to use it for my rear fins on my diffuser and fog rings. But might aswell buy a can of red paint.
