I remember these looked really smart too.

Do you think they would have much benefit in preventing heat soak

I think they would do a job letting heat out... but they'd probably let rain in...

I think they would have some effect, it would be better if the K&N design wasn't for the filter to be wedged in that little gap. In my engine bay I have my battery relocated so that the filter can go towards the back of the bay and have a lot of open space around it. These vents would mean air flowed all over it.

I believe they're quite expensive to have fit though unless you're feeling a dab hand with your bodywork skills?

Milky, dont think youve quite understood me. i know they were cut into his bonnet, what im saying is i dont think his vents are actual vents that have aur going through them, he said just to save the pain of covering stuff up under the engine bay i he got rain water or washing it etc in there.

Yeah you mean they're cut into the bonnet but the bottom of the vents are blanked off to stop water getting on the engine, right?

All I know is at one point we was going to design a tray to catch water and then pipe it away from the engine, that might be just on his though.

hello guys!!! iv finally arrived haha
im glad you guys found the pictures =] i have actually cut the vents out and iv had no trouble at all with water getting anywhere.
the only water that gets in the engine bay is if the water hits the actual vent and slides in the vent hole. all water on bonnet goes around vent as the vent is raised up on the bonnet.
so im pretty sure i wont have any trouble with water at all =]
was thinking of making a tray to accept any water but there isnt much gone through so il be ok i think =]

let me no if you want any more pictures =]
