Those threads are ok, but if we had one section where we could put all of our individual threads that would be cool

Yeah this is what I was thinking be nice to showcase your pride and joy in it's own thread and that can be updated as more you do like others have!! A general mod thread is cool but not the same

Yeah, and like i've pointed out with those threads in these threads before, after a month or two your pictures are lost into the many pages. If I now wanted to see Lee's mods for example it would be a PITA to trawl through those threads.

If we had a project area that only Mods could post stuff into then it could easily be monitored that the only posts in that area were project threads.

Most people already have project threads on here in the forecourt so we'd be just relocating them into a new area

I spoke to ChrisCumbria about this at Ford Day and I think something might be in the pipeline...

Which bit? A nice little project area or a whole new site upgrade? Ooooh, exciting.

good news with a dedicated area then it may also encourage more people to create a project thread

I want more than just a basic project threads area, a proper garage area where you can add modifications as you do them and get to it from each person's profile like some other forums have is the best.

I think the forum software is a little lacking to accommodate the jazzy functions other sites have. I'd like them too but unless the board is updated I don't think it's something that Scott can implement at the moment. I could be wrong...

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. I'm not massively clued up on the inner workings of forums but I have a very rough understanding.

Any insider knowledge on any plans to update the site? It doesn't mean we have to change the layout or even the look for the major part, it's just a way of bringing the site up to date. The site is going to slowly decline relative to other places I would have thought.

And now we've all paid our yearly fee there may be funding in place to help a bit?

I know there are plans to reinvent the layout somewhat and tweak all the different areas. I'm sure I read that somewhere in a post by Scotty. Nothing too major though.

Unfortunately I have no real insider knowledge about possible upgrades as yet. Im sure it's on the cards as the idea has been tossed around for quite a while now but keep in mind that what we have now has built an incredible community and I wouldn't want to rush through an upgrade and ruin what we've already got going. Also, I don't have a clue how any of this works If Scott decides to upgrade here then Ill happily help if I can.
I'd be surprised if the site slowly degrades though. The friendly atmosphere that this site generates regularly attracts new members and with the the launch of the new Fiesta ST hopefully coming soon I think the site would tick over ok. I dont doubt a few upgrades would be fun though

Oh yeah, definitely. This site and all the members are brilliant. And any massive overhaul wouldn't be welcomed. We definitely don't want to lose what we have. I didn't really mean degrade, that was a dodgy choice of words. I meant that relative to new fancy forums it will not be as good.

We're like an 80's video game. Fricking awesome, and everyone loves it, sure to be liked forever, but lacking the technicalities of modern games.

There are some glitchy bits of this forum that come up time and time again (search function pita, the unread responses number not counting right, etc).

I'm pleased to say the Project Thread section is now up and running.

Just to add, I've moved the project threads there that were immediately visible, but if anyone wants others moved there please can they post up on here.
