Get a decent car cover, it helps protect against snow blowing into the engine or getting under the car or freezing the brakes.
if the car isn't going to be driven ideally the best place it should live is in a garage.
As if you leave the car standing for a period of time, your tyres will get flat spots and be prone to go brittle and your battery will eventually just die.
If I was in your situation without a garage in my person opinion ill invest in a heavy duty car cover with insulation against harsh weather and winds.
Remove the wheels and battery, leave the car on axle stands tucked up snug out the way.
Completely Drain the water reservoir for your windscreen, replace all vital fluids with new ones, oil, radiator fluid and brake fluid. run the car aprox 10 miles and get the fluids around the engine.
Only then will i be sure the car will be okay.
Oh and make sure you fill the petrol tank up full and add some gas treatment in to stop the gas from oxidizing and deteriorating.
Leaving a half empty tank moisture in the empty space causes rust, now i think our tanks are actually made of a none metal however, the pump and other metal parts inside could still rust.
Take the alloys and bung them in the shed or inside if you have the space on their side, this will stop flat spots.
When the weather gets warmer and you put everything back together again i strongly recommend leaving the car running for a good 15 minutes before driving her to ensure the oil.
There are two issues though about removing the battery, if you remove the battery the car no longer has alarm, however the second issue is after a month of not driving the battery will die any-ways leaving you without an alarm.
What I'd do is park your car as far back to a brick wall or house and overnight get your siblings or parents to park their car in front so the car don't go walkies.
Another one that my brothers boss does with his Porsche is he's brought two car batteries whilst one is in the car keeping everything alarmed the other is charging indoors, so when one dies he puts a new one in.
£60 for a 2nd car battery or £1000's for damage and losses from petty thieves makes sense to do it.
any ways that's my thoughts.
