I've noticed a few people on here have tuned their STs up and that's something i'm interested in doing. It's not something i know much about though so what would people recommend i do to start with? I've researched a bit into chipping, but i've heard mixed responses really. The power upgrades on Pumaspeed have caught my eyel, it's a lot, but it's a fair increase in bhp. Where would i get parts like these fitted?

Are you sure about that Crofty? Most prices they quote on the website actually mention "fitting service available" to which I understand that the quoted price is without fitting. I think they will also ship the parts anywhere.

BTW Just seen they have the Quaife LSD for 475 GBP (without VAT).

Cheeks. An induction kit and and full exhaust (inc manifold) will give you an extra 8-12bhp, rev will be alot more responsive too.

Yer i had a better look and i could well be wrong. Looks like if you get the parts you could take them to most garages to have them fit. i would have thought u would get a better deal if you buy them and have them fit at the same place though

Are you still tempted by the LSD then Nick?

I sure am, especially after my second day at Spa where it was pouring with rain - whoever dares telling me again that the Fiesta ST does not have a traction problem (you know who you are), I'd be glad to take them around at Spa in those conditions.

I am getting a bit short on cash at the moment though with a few expenses coming up on the Cossie so it might have to wait a little.

Yup, an Escort, only just bought it too. I've done nothing to it except putting a fresh cambelt and overboost regulator on it. I don't plan to do anything to it as I waited and searched for quite a long time to find one which is completely standard and this one is...

It's alot of money but a 260bhp would be something special

best thing i would say to do is to replace the pansy exhaust flexy pipe and fit an induction kit, the car will sound much better and breath easier! (and both are cheap)
the thing to note about the st is that although they spent 2 years sorting the handling, the engine set-up wasn't so thought out! so replacing simple items that wouldn't normally see big power gains in other n/a cars will see a big gain on the ST, such as inlet and exhaust systems and fuel mapping.

I don't think £100 for a piece of flexi metal tube is cheap!
That's why I won't buy one, though from what I've read some people recon if you're only going to do ONE modification do this!
£100 is a rip off though, £50 would be a bit better.

BTW, does anyone think sticking the airbox on top of the engine was a bit daft??
It's gotta heat-soak and warm the induction air?
Any views?

if you buy the piper manifold the flexy pipe is attatched and is 285 squid, thats good money for a nice power hike, that unfortunately was the only place they could fit the airbox, its the same on all mk6 fiesta engines, and the reason is because they decided to bring the windscreen and dash further forward, great for leg room but the knock on effect was a smaller engine bay.....still an induction kit cures that...almost

The air wont be in the box long enough to get warm.

So if you do order from Pumaspeed, do you have to drive up there and they will fit the parts there and then, order do they send you the parts and get them fitted yourself? How many garages would fit parts that you give to them anyway?

Radip fit seem quite good at fitting bits youv'e bought yourself. They done my springs on my fiesta and full exhaust and springs on my escort.
