Went Xmas shopping Saturday. Drove my car in perfectly fine no noises nothing. Parked the car up and went off for two hours. When I came back started up and tryed pulling away. Crunch! So I had a look around the car and noticed the drivers wheel was sat up inside the arch! Got a torch out and found my spring was snapped clean in half and had fallen past the plate. Managed to bodge it back together by getting some wood and stuffing it up inside the spring and tied it up together to support the cars weight then drove the 6mile journey back at 15mph and hazards going. Anyone else had problems with ford springs breaking?? Scary considering the speeds I was doing the day before :/ excuse to buy some lowered springs tho

My neighbour has got a Mondeo . His front passenger side spring snapped about a month ago. He said it was fine when he parked then one his journey home noticed a loud clonking on full lock. We checked it at home and the same problem as u said. His has done a lot of miles though so theyd had a good run. He saw it as an opportunity to fit lowering springs earlier then expected.

Mine had a broken spring last service, was cheaper to get a whole set of eibachs plus fitting than ford wanted to replace 1 standard one!

As bad as it sounds any excuse to upgrade. I know people that have been driving along and they've snapped!
