I use the forum on my iPad and on my phone, but it doesn't seem to be that iPad/iPhone friendly. Aka the text is very small as a lot of the screen is used up with avatars on the left and sig images?

My thought is, is the any way to have an iPad/iPhone alternative?

Also how come the forum doesn't show up on forum apps such as tapatalk?

If anyone knows an iPad/iPhone forum app let me know

Cheers Cooper

I love it on the iPad, works brilliantly for me

In settings you can turn avatars & sigs off if you prefer

Maybe an option to make the text size larger would be an advantage?

If the forum supports it, tapatalk would be great - unfortunately people don't see the benefits of Tapatalk and the idea never gets pursued.

Tapatalk is a much easier way of navigating the forums on mobile devices, and the server plugin is free so I can't see any downsides.

If the forum backend doesn't support it though, a mobile theme would be a good alternative (based on browser user agent - if you're on a phone you automatically get the mobile theme.

Mobile touchscreen devices are rapidly taking over as the main way people access the Internet and needs considering

Yeah I think tapatalk would be brill!

When ever I'm on iPad/iPhone I just get the native desktop site and on the phone it becomes very easy to miss click

How do we push the tapatalk idea?

its not a problem its just small type so you have to keep zooming in all the time on each page, i think it would be easier in a better mobile layout?

Thought I'd seen tapatalk mentioned before,

http://www.fordfiestast.co.uk/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=300669&an=0&page=0#300669

I prefer using it as it is more convenient. Quite an anti crowd tho as well.

the last attempt died out so this will no doubt go same way. After using it for couple months on the Mountune owners club I can definitely say mobile browsing is better on it, plus seeings u don't have to use it if u dont want to then no one loses out

I don't use the browser any more for forums as tapatalk makes it easier and quicker to do use a forum on the move. Makes it easy to upload pics, reply to topics, and it's a lot faster than browsing normally. People get so negative about it but never actually use it so don't actually know.

It's the first thing I implemented when I took over the running of the km forum and now 60% of our traffic is through tapatalk.

Hmmmmm i cant see any downside, you'll get one notification asking if you want to use tapatalk and if not its not going to bug you. People can opt in or out without extra costs etc.

Who is the manager of this forum? maybe a private message might get the ball rolling? or at least to finding out if its possible

Seriously, when you use it day in day out its so so so so so much easier to use - no more zooming in and out, logging in, randomly logging out, no more tiny links to quote or reply, it's absolutely fantastic.

But remember that this site doesn't support it, that sex dolls one you frequent probably does however

Tapatalk is great.

I put MTOC onto very early on and get quite a few unique hits via it and i use it day to day to see whats going on as its much easier compared to loading the whole page every time.

Its easy.

Register on tapatalk

Upload the files to the server

Add the code to the overall header of the site (if its compatible, most are)

then your done.

only problem will be if the forum software is incompatible or they cant get access to the correct files to add the code

ST-RS already has this built in for mobile viewing.

I have been thinking about moving the software onto this site but will need a vote first. The previous died a death.

They give you a list of unread posts which is pretty much same thing, I can manage that easily

So I've been trying Tapatalk on my Daytona forum as they have made an app via iTunes that meant I didn't have to pay for the Tapatalk app if you follow me

First impressions are mixed tbh, it makes finding things hard as the forum is now just a list which looks crap but the Unread section is good. Replying is now quicker really, just use quick reply on here and the way pics are imbedded over there mean you have to click the small thumbnail to see them properly.

I'll stick at for a bit longer and see how it goes but it kinda loses the forum 'feel' if you know what I mean

Thought I'd post my views

I don't post very much any more but I do still read in the background at what is going on. I'd like the new software but try to keep the look as similar as possible. I'm not a fan of the look of ST-RS and find it hard to use.
