Hi my name is Robbie just saying hello because i have just registered on the site. I will be ordering my new ST in the next few months, just saving up some money! I will be going for a silver ST with no strips and most of the optional extras except full leather and sat nav.

I have a few questions for you guys:

1) Insurance: Where is the best place to get insurance? I am 20 with 1 years NCB, Best quote so far is £1600 with elephant.co.uk.

2) ESP: Is this worth getting?

3) Fuel economy: What are you guys averaging, i use the motorway all the way to work. (not that i am that bothered!)

Cheers.

Hi Robbie, welcome to the site .
Unlike GerTRude6 would have done, I'll answer your post seriously!
The best thing to do with your insurance is just shop around as much as you can.Though for your age I don't think that's that bad (I may be proved wrong though, hope so!)
As for ESP. I haven't got it and have never been in a position where I thought " I'd have controlled that better if I'd have had ESP"
They're OK on the motorway but a bit undergeared so can scream at you a bit when you're doing over 80MPH, which of course you would never do!!
Fuel economy depends on how you drive it, 30-40MPG ??

If you ever have any questions that you can't see on previous posts then don't be afraid to ask. Someone will always know or get you the answer.

Hi Robbie

Welcome to the site and forum.

I hope you enjoy reading and posting any comments that you may have. Like Dave said, if there's anything you can't find an answer to then you're more than welcome to ask!

If you have any probs on the site then feel free to get in touch with one of the team here: myself, Chris and FiestaRS.

In answer to a couple of your questions, insurance wise again its just a case of spending as much time as possible getting quotes. I've found in the past that confused.com can be pretty good and have used them a couple of times in the past, though bear in mind that there are a few insurers they don't use.

Economy wise, most people including myself get between 29-33 mpg, though some people get more. Obviously it is a little less when driving on the motorway.

Take care
ChrisC (site mod)

hey Robbie welcome to the site for insurance like Dave said is to shop around to find the best deal sometime there could be a big different!
About ESP mine came as standard cause is not a UK spec but I thing it could be useful if the worse came. My ESP does kick in a few time when i'm driving but cause im driving fast!
For motorway the ST is the most economical way of using ur ST!

hi, try admiral they nearly took my hand off when i said i was 21 and wanted to insure the ST. they said i fell right into their catergory of young drivers with performance cars. they were the cheapest around for me, although i think admiral, bell and elephant are the same company. but having said that admiral were still cheaper that elephant. give them a call, dont use the stupid internet thing

Thanks for the warm welcome and for your replies guys!

I have only been using the internet to get my quotes so I will phone around. I can not wait too order it, the insurance is the only thing I am saving up for don't want to be paying it monthly!

Thanks again
Robbie.
