This might be a totally daft question but is a drive belt the same as a fan belt ? As I'm changing my water pump and I thought I would change the belt that's connected to the water pump but I'm a little confused on what belt it is can someone please clarify this for me please

A drive belt (Auxiliary belt) is what some people still call a fan belt, yes.
Last time I saw a true fan belt was on my old 1980 Land Rover lol.
