In all honesty mate, they're not worth it. I have some big chemical guys buckets with grit guards, and I haven't found them any better than the heavy duty ones you can get at B&Q. As long as you don't rub the mitt to the bottom of the bucket.

Personally I have never seen the need for a gritguard. Just using two buckets will be fine. As Luke says just keep the mit near the top of the rinse bucket.
I've just bought two new buckets for an extortionate £1 each.
