Hey lads an ladies new to the forum...have a bit of a problem if anyone can help

basically iv a 06 1.25 zetec fiesta as a run around im in the process of doin the head gasket iv sent the head off to be pressure tested for cracks before i stick it back on

problem is wit my intake cam and sprocket for the timing belt..i was expecting the cam to have a dowel for lining up the sprocket like most cars do.
once i seperated them i realised no down oh bugger moment thats gona be tricky line back up...i marked the exhaust cam before i seperated them so thats fine.

but does anyone know the easiest way to line the cam an sprocket back up so the cam is at tdc for cylinder 1 and the sprocket will line up wit the tdc markings??

sorry for the long intro...but its kinda urgent.
many thanks
Dara

This engine is different to the 2.0L which this site is focused on.

I would personally contact ford customer service and try and obtain the technical diagrams for lining them up. I wouldn't take advice from a forum based environment as no body can actually see exactly what you are doing.

Obviously if you do take advice then I'll have to stress that this is in no way an exact answer. Any issues caused are down to your own responsibility and not associated with the site, its members or staff.

Excellent

Things like this are always best to either get the right tool, or get the right documentation. I personally would be cagey reading web info. For most things its fine... but any form of timing or alignment is different
